Already have all the look up stuff on my EVO 4G. Think all I want from my GPS is the bigger screen then my EVO and accurate routing which I enjoy with my nuvi 760.

looks good but missing some good features of Nuvi 765t. Features like FM Transmitter, MP3 player, 3d Building etc.
I enjoyed MP3 with FM transmitter on my long trip from Edmonton to Vancouver.
I am still very happy with my Nuvi 765t with MSN DIrect.

Lack of MP3 and FM transmitter are cons; I use both regularly on my 660. Though, it requires my car radio antenna be disconnected to work, and still has some static, so that technology is not really missed. I might keep the 660 in the car just for the MP3 player if I get the 1695.
The bigger screen and integration with EcoRoute HD bluetooth OBDII dongle are big advantages.
But the main reason I'm considering the 1695 is the nüLink traffic. The FM traffic was so inaccurate on my 660 that I never bothered purchasing the subscription after the trial period ended.
Edit: If the nüLink traffic comes from Navteq, that means it isn't any better than the FM traffic, right?
I have the 1690 (and love it) and from the added features of the 1695, the main ones are the 5" screen (though the resolution is the same as the standard wide screen, so it may be a little grainy) and the trending. They also added safety cameras and POI ratings to the Google local search. I am not sure how the Google safety camera info stacks up to the info on this site. I will say that the info on POI factory is more than likely kept up to date more often.

I wonder what the difference will be with the premium safety cameras thing that will be available for purchase from the nulink store through the 1695.

Could be hit or miss depending how up to date the database is and how often it is updated.
FM traffic uses TMC which is only capable of class 5 highways whereas the Nuvi service is digital transmission which is capable of flow data on all roads if its available. TMC has to send and resend data for error correction and there are multipath and reception issues as well.
Navteq has said they are increasing traffic flow coverage later this year in the US although there is no guarantee that the 1695 will show it - I am optimistic that it will.

The biggest problem is the transmission, not the company

The biggest problem is that the FM technology used with the power cord receivers is they are very poor receivers and the FM signal uses a very slow bit rate for the data transmission. Once the data has been reported and coded for broadcast, it can take 10-15 minutes for the s-l-o-w transmission to reach your traffic receiver.

Got it. I've disconnected my vehicle radio antenna to make the FM transmitter (for the MP3 player) work better (apparently it uses the same cord in the traffic receiver as an antenna). I wonder if the reduced FM interference that I have achieved by disconnecting the vehicle radio antenna would in any way also improve reception of FM traffic data through the traffic receiver. Not that I'm going to purchase an FM traffic subscription any time soon (if at all) in order to test this, but just curious.
Interesting...
Uses AT&T's network for data... which is interesting since the NuviPhone is a T-Mobile thing.
This may be my next GPSr.

FM Xmit and MP3
Not having had either on my SP2610, I've not missed them on my 1690. Could be that I just don't know what I'm missing.
I doubt the 5" screen will be grainy... should be the same as the 1490.

Seems like a win to me
For the same price as a yearly traffic subscription, you get the online stuff, too. And as opposed to FM traffic, this could actually work reliably.
This could possibly be my next upgrade.
