Nuvi 660 Do You Like The Bluetooth

Im interested in hearing comments on the Bluetooth portion of the nuvi 660. I have a Nuvi 350 and I am considering updating to a 660 for the Bluetooth function.

I know its an older unit, but they are inexpensive and my 350 is perfect except for the fact that I would like the Bluetooth compatibility.

Thanks

I have the 680 which is virtually identical to the 660 except for the MSN Traffic.

Bluetooth?!? Novelty at best, not practical in most applications unless you like the caller repeatedly saying "What" I can't hear you!"

660 bluetooth

I have a 660 and use the bluetooth with my cell phone and it works very good, if you have the windows open sometimes you will get noise but my son and I talk to each other and it is perfect but it is good.

Bluetooth...

I, too, enjoy and extoll the virtues of this function of my 660. I must warn you, however, that the latest BT software version did not work well with my current Samsung u410.

Just be aware that the lastest BT SW version may not work well with your current phone. Then again, it may. But when it does work, it is very useful.

If you have a quiet vehicle and a phone on the "compatible" list, the 660 will boost your voice well enough to be understood quite well. If you have background noise, the 660 doesn't boost the voice as much. The closer you can position the unit to your mouth, the better the sound.

I love the feature. Make sure you are aware of the refurb 660's being sold for $139 to $159 with case and a/c adapter. I think the 660 has been the most trouble-free unit Garmin made.

Bluetooth

I have a 660. The Bluetooth is a feature that I use and love. Callers do say that it does not sound the best on their end, but sounds good on the gps end. It keeps my hands on the steering wheel. I use the Bluetooth everytime I use the phone in the car.

I had a 660 and the bluetooth was pretty good, it worked find for me. Then I upgraded to a 885T forget using blutooth on that one.

660 and Bluetooth

I have a 660 and occasionally use the bluetooth function with my Blackberry. I have the unit on the dash with a bean bag, so it's about 3 feet away.

People on the other end of my calls sometimes claim that I sound like I'm talking in a barrel - not quite an echo, but a hollow sound. But I REALLY like the large buttons on the 660 screen. Dialing is relatively easy, and the "Answer" and "End Call" buttons that appear on-screen provide a large touch area.

I have used Bluetooth headsets and ear buds with my cell phone, but I find the 660 to be better than these options for hands-free use.

Bluetooth and 660

I tried the bluetooth speakerphone for a while on my 660. I actually found the speakerphone function on the actual phone more useful.

My $0.02

I didnt like it much.
