My nuvi has a lot of trouble finding satellites any ideas?

Slow Acquisition

It takes the gps longer to acquire the satellites if you start it at a location different from where it was last turned off. It takes longer if you don't use the unit for awhile.

Does it make any difference whether you turn it on inside your car or standing outside? Some windshields have a coating that blocks the satellite signals.

Finally, if you hit "Post Comment" and nothing happens immediately -- wait. Repeatedly pushing the button results in multiple posts. Jonathan, if you are reading this, another forum that I visit has added a prevention for this -- if you try to push the button again, you get an error message stating that you must wait at least 10 or 15 seconds between posts.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

Moving - or not?

In addition to bentbiker's thought on windshield coatings or embedded antennae or heater coils that can cause weak GPS signals from reaching your dashboard through a windshield, are you moving when acquiring the signal or stationary? A stationary GPS may lock on weak signals quicker that when moving.

One last thought--if your nuvi hasn't updated its firmware for a long time, some nuvis have had firmware upgrades that reduce signal acquisition time. You may want to try a webupdater run.
