When it comes out, it'll be on a DVD rather than a CD.

It's available on DVD now. I

It's available on DVD now. I can see it in myGarmin account.

SO tell me If I were to purchase one of the above, Is it limited to install on one nuvi or can it be installed on multiple ones?

One Nuvi Only

You get to install it to one Nuvi, or other model that uses the NT maps, per unlock code.

older models vs. software size

I wonder if future map updates will be too large for the older models. I've got a c530, but wanted to skip the 2009 edition and wait for the 2010. According to Garmin's website, a new version is available.

Does the new version say 2010 on the cover? If not, how do I make sure I'm purchasing the 2010 version?

I think so

When I bought the DVD for 2009 City Nav NA NT to upgrade my 2008 map on my nuvi, it did have 2009 printed on the cover. So if Garmin continues, 2010 should be on the actual DVD case as well. However, at least for now looking online, the folks selling the newest maps don't have a genuine image of the 2010 DVD displayed, so you should be sure to check with them before ordering online.

On the other hand, by buying the Onetime map directly from Garmin (at list price), you know you'll get the current 2010 map.

The good news is that from what Garmin states, the numaps Onetime City Navigator North America NT 2010 DVD is compatible with your c530.

One last thing to consider is that lifetime map updates available quaterly for your device will cost just about $20 more than the Onetime map you're looking at. Other than being $20 less, about the only other advantage to buying the 2010 DVD is that you won't have a 2-hr or so broadband download to do to install the map. Buying the DVD rather than doing a download is definitely the way to go for slow dialup internet folks.

2010 maps

When I purchased my 2009 maps to upgrade my 2008 maps, I was expecting some upgrades concerning roads that were missing. I can understand why roads have only been recently put in are not in the maps. But some of the roads I've had to travel on had been in place for almost 20 years, and there is no indication of any road in the area. Why they haven't been updated with the past updates doesn't make any sense. The roads I've been on also appeared on AAA maps, so I know that it's in some system somewhere.

thanks!

thanks!

As someone else found out, I opted to keep my 2008 map until the 2010 version came out. I was afraid that not enough changes would be there to warrant the purchase.

Some roads and businesses in my area that have been around for 5+ years aren't on Garmin Maps, Google, or any other non-AAA map. Seems like AAA ought to be the final source for mapping in many cases.

Just bought new unit

Should I get DVD or download 2010 map?
Is there any benefit getting physical DVD?

DVD or download?

The download will contain any updates to the mapping data and mapsource software since the files were written to the DVD.

Download compatibility?

My Streetpilot C330 is not listed as being a unit that can accept download products on Garmin's website. (But the Garmin website still offers the lifetime subscription.)

Does anybody else have any experience using a lifetime subscription or a downloaded map product with a C330?
