Unit ID

Maybe this is a dumb question but I have searched and can't seem to find the answer. I let my traffic expire, actually I thought it was lifetime but Garmin says it was only 90 days. It's a 770. So, I thought I would purchase the lifetime deal but I can't find the unit id.
Garmin says go to tools-settings-traffic and get the id. Well I don't see traffic there anymore since the subscription ran out. So where to now?
Is it in the Bios?

Go to tools,settings,system

Go to tools, settings, system and click on About bottom middle of screen and you will see id number.

You are right! Thank you so

You are right! Thank you so much! Have a great day.

You need the traffic receiver's ID number not the GPS ID

Garmin was correct. The traffic receiver has to be connected to the GPS and powered up and then the traffic icon will be in the tools-settings-traffic menu. Select the traffic icon then the add button near the bottom and you will get your traffic receiver's ID number. That is the number you need to purchase the lifetime traffic, not the GPS unit ID.

From Garmin site on how to get traffic receiver Unit ID:

"To obtain the traffic receiver Unit ID, follow the instructions below:
Place the nüvi in the suction mount, and connect the power cable (with integrated traffic receiver) to an available power receptacle.
Turn the key in the ignition to apply power to the nüvi
From the Main menu, touch Tools > Settings > Traffic > Add. Your FM traffic receiver's Unit ID appears. "

Thank you! You are so

Thank you! You are so right. I am not sure what that other unit id number is for but the traffic id is different. I am trying to update it now. thanks again.

The other number is the GPS

The other number is the GPS unit ID- the traffic receiver unit ID is for the FM receiver in the power cord. If you use the wrong number it's a 5m call to Garmin to get a new code to type in.
