2010 Map Updates

I was going to update my nuvi 260 until i realized it was $60! Thats a lot for just one map upadate

If you are still within the first 60 days, you probably should wait a little bit. The next update will likely be released very soon.

But in the mean time, here are the stipulations for the nuMaps Guarantee.

I agree with Motorcycle Mama...wait it out for a bit. An update is likely to be released soon. You'll kick yourself if you update now and in a few days or so, an new update is released.

My first post and I'm looking forward to learning from everyone out there. I just picked up the 780 and ran all the updates including the 2010 map. Didn't realize they come out quarterly so my question is - are there major changes between versions or minor corrections to streets and such. Is there a list someplace of what the changes are?

Depends where you live,some see nice changes and some see nothing,you'll have to use Mapsource and serf around and see what's by you if it changed or not.

When the maps were released annually, there was a distinct possibility that there would be big changes between map updates. Now that the releases are more frequent, the changes in between the versions are likely to to be less.

A publicly available list? No, there is not. I'm sure Navteq has (and knows) the changes but I really doubt you'll ever get this kind of info from them.

I just bought a 760 and was able to update it with the 2010 map. I have a very fast internet connection so it did not take that long to download it.

ok so i updated to 2010 after buying the street pilot 7200... in june (end) - it said i had 30 days to update to the new maps free... so i took a trip to new brunswick from virginia - via ontario.. (long long drive)... i constantly took me to dead end streets in new brunswick then told me to turn left or right - of a mountains side once!!! not fun towing a 37' rv... you cant just 'u-turn' a 54' long vehicle... they maps are REALLY inaccurate... and i really ticked. and these roads it was messing up are 20 years old. as well it couldnt find many many fuel / truck stops -- we would search for one it would show 20 miles -- but there was one 1 mile ahead -- sometimes several. ridiculous. i am calling garmin...

yes..expecting the 2010.2 version...

I returned my TomTom 740 and exchanged Garmin 755. I had trouble to update the 2010 Garmin map with my Mac. Gramin did not have very much instruciton for Mac user yet.. took me a while to finally get the new 2010 map to upload to my new Garmin..Yaee..

Yes, I finally jumped in and purchased the Lifetime map updates. I spent 2 hour with the download and install and so far am happy. After waiting three years my home address is now on the map. Yessssss!!

I just yesterday set up a separate Garmin account for my brother in law's GPS. He bought it about 16 months ago. When I registered his unit (under his account) I got a prompt that a "free update" was available for his unit. So I clicked OK and got the 2010.1 for him. He is happy now.

Looks like 5 days later.

Took 1/2 hour to download and another 35 mins to load. Did so even while recording using adobe premere.

Where is my 2010_V3 update already!?!?!?!?

I paid for lifetime map updates and want another!

Just bought this at Costco. The mapis 2010.10. Went to Numaps. It tells me today that there is an update available.

Will wait near end of 60 days to get latest update, may be another one.

The latest update is 2010.20 that just came out.Not sure another update will be out in that time frame.

I just downloaded 2010.20 for my 465T.
