Two Redlight by village after they found they increased accidents.

A village took down two cameras in their village after they found that accidents increased after installing cameras. The camera generated 1 million worth of tickets though in a year.

I am not in favor or against taking down the camera. I definitely approve the first step of acknowledging the fact, that the process of red-light trafic camera is not fully mature yet.

There is a need of some research on driving pattern and behavir changes doe to the trafic cameras.

can you send me more

can you send me more information through my contact tab so that I can make sure those locations are not in the system still.

Thanks,

Miss POI

Where was the Village?

Where was the Village? I would like to see the news story as a debate has just started in Indianapolis about installing 38 traffic cameras.

Here is a study

Here is a study http://www.schaumburgfreedom.com/public-safety/what-are-red-... which is very any traffic light cameras. I am sure they have not listed studies which shows the otherside of the coin, i.e traffic cameras reducing the accidents.

That location was removed

That location was removed from this week's update.

Red Light Cameras = Money

Driving patterns do change when red light cameras are present. When I approach such an intersection I either slow down so that I don't enter the intersection when the light may change or I speed up so that I pass the intersection before the light changes. Also, I look into my rear view mirror to see if someone is going to slam into me.

P.S. In 48 years of driving I have never had a chargeable accident. The one accident that I was in occurred when I was stopped at a light and someone wss not paying attention.
