Non Chain Mexican Food?

My favorite West Coast Mexican food place is a chain. And they show up if you do a Name search in Mexician food on my Garmin 750.

Rubios. Fish tacos can't be beat.

The BEST Mexican food in the Conroe, Texas area.

A great one in my area is called "El Mexicano Restaurant". This is authentic Mexican food. The original was in Bay City, MI. They recently expanded to two adjacent cities. Very good food and very reasonable prices. The information can be found at this URL. www.elmexicano1.com/home

I'm new to this so I'm not sure if this is the correct way to make a correction. I grew up in Southwest Detroit (and lived there for 55 years) and I have to say you got the right ones from that area. There is an error though on:
Mi Pueblo Restaurant which is at 7278 Dix., Detroit, MI, 48216 1-313-841-3315. The problem is that it is listed in the POI as Dix Hwy, which puts the coordinates in Lincoln Park. Dix is actually a Street (or just Dix) at that location in Detroit. The actual coordinates should be:
42.317031 -83.124409 This will put you right in their driveway (I checked it and had a wonderful dinner)

Also, I wanted to add one that is not in Southwest Detroit, but is in Lincoln Park:

They have the best salsa and chips I have ever had anywhere (including Mexico). Their dinners are excellent and they are an authentic Mexican family ran business.

The best way to submit corrections is just as you did, post it on the thread about the subject.

One of the easiest for single addresses.

Just use Google maps aerial and street level views. When you fnd the spot, right click on the aerial map and select "What's here". Google will dislay the coordinates.

Hey, you know Arizona has some of the best mexican food ever! Many different areas of Mexico produce excellent dishes and I need to list just two of my absolute favorite places (but certainly not the only ones) in Phoenix and Tucson.

There are TOO MANY "white" Mexican restaurants (and I am Scottish) that cater to the "ketchup eaters." I was raised in the Southwest and if you go to a restaurant full of old white people you are in the WRONG place. I love the places where mi Abuelita or Tia is cooking or serving the food. Warning to the gueros! Try a tiny bit of the homemade salsa or bring your own fire extinguisher. Starch works MUCH better than soda or water. Let the rice or bread SIT on your tongue to soak up the oils (yes the hot part are oils and that's why they don't rinse off)

That being said great Mexican food may be a bit spicy but only when gulped. Great cooking has LOTS of taste along with the spice. Heat ONLY is the mark of cheap tourist trap hot sauce and college kid wing eating contests.

Homemade EVERYTHING and the chips come out to the Table HOT. Still family run, and family style. Green Chile burros guaranteed pleaser, but the Menudo Colorado, Posole or Cocido is also excellent. I have never had a bad meal here, only great ones.

Family Run, tortilla's made in front of you, awesome breakfasts and some of the BEST homemade guacamole will spoil you for anything less. The mole (that's pronounced mo-lay for you new kids) sauces are the best and Teresa's is a great place for a casual meal or business lunch.
