I figured I'd share some non-chain restaurants down here-since none of them are chain!
Of course,I'll be adding many POI also,including the Costco location for you diehard devotees.
And as I travel around southern Baja,I'll be adding more.

When I get POI file from the POI-Factory, I see it as an endorsement by the creator. If they don't like a place it's usually left out, or there is a note about why they don't like it.

Hi...I sumbitted several Tex-Mex locations in Texas back on 11-02-2010. You've added them to the file (I can see them in Excel), but they are not showing up in any of my Garmin units (765 and 1490). Any ideas what the problem may be?

If you just display the list of restaurants, the unit only shows the 50 or so closest to you. Try a search by name.

I tried that..but it still does not show the restaurants. They are in the database, but not showing up on the Garmins.

Mexican restaurant (in the Custom POI listing for Daytona Beach) last evening (Xmas Eve) for a light dinner and to listen to a 4 piece Mariachi group who sang many, many traditional Spanish/Mexican Christmas Season songs. Was very enjoyable.

I have been often disappointed by Mexican restaurants, and this list will come in handy.

Ontario, and especially where I live about 50 miles west of Toronto, has very few Mexican. Waterloo Region has every other type of restaurant, including Sushi, Thai, East Indian, German and every other nationality one can think of. For some reason, Mexican is few and far between and all have been below expectations.

I'd love to see any good ones that people might know in Ontario.

I do not show any unusable records, and it appears to work fine in Extra POI Editor. I'll check on my 760 and see if they come up.

Dumb questions... are you sure you are overwriting the old file with the new? Are you sure you are updating your units properly?

I just downloaded the Mexican Restaurant POI file to a new computer. I connected a brand new Nuvi 1490T, and after installing all the Garmin updates, I ran POI Loader and checked the results on the new Garmin unit.

Those files I submitted still do not appear on the GPS unit. Searching for them on the GPS finds no results (even though I see them in the file on the computer). Weird problem. Did you have any luck?

Are you checking the builtin POI or the ones in extra?

Yes, in Extras...along with other downloaded POIs. This is the only file that seems to behave differently.

In Excel, the entries in question are items 246-252.
