Magellan Roadmate

Hi,
I tried your procedure and it worked great for the hospitals csv but when I tried the air field csv and populated-west csv files , I received a "cannot open" file error on the roadmate for both files after transfer. I tried several times and even though the indication was that the transfer was working with no errors, it would not open in the roadmate. Later I tried to open the Magellan file on the pc but received a message that the "file could not be opened and it must be corrupt." I re-did the files with the Magellan POI editor and saved as a Magellan type. Everything looked fine but when I closed the file and immediately tried to open the Magellan type with the editor, I again received the message, "file could not be opened and it must be corrupt." I sure wish I could get it to work. I went to the Magellan site but didn't see any clue as to what the problem might be.

Update:
After my initial post, I tried deleting some of the records in the csv file before opening with the Magellan POI editor. Then I saved in the Magellan format and it worked. I have not been able to investigate further but it appears that file size or number of records has something to do with the failure to open the larger file.

file size

I think you're right about the file size / number of records. I've had troubles with larger files on my RM 3000.

If you need any files cut down to a smaller geographic area, just let me know.

RM 3000 POI files

Can the 3000T handle multiple personal POI files? Meaning, can I store more than one? That would reduce file size tremendously.

multiple files

The RoadMate POI Manager will let you copy several files to the 3000T, but you can only set one to be active at a time.

That works for me!
