Garmin 200 Nüvi

I just picked up the Garmin 200 Nüvi for $97 at Walmart on Black Friday (today). So far I love it! Only thing is, it didn't come preloaded with speed alerts, that kind of stinks. I tend to have a led. At first I didn't like the the whole vehicle thing. But once I seen that I can change it to the 3D Arrow. I was ok with it. So I went on to the site and look at more of the vehicles, I changed my opinion. I'm going to try the knuckels and deadend. I'm also going to try the Dr. Nightmare voice. I'm going to try to use this for a bit of geocaching type stuff. I know it's not meant for it, but I'll get a general idea where I am, was, and need to be when I'm in the middle of the woods.

closest ....

The 200 seems like a good basic unit. Anyone know which garmin is suppose to be a replacement for the nuvi 350?

the closest replacement to the 350 feature wise would be the nuvi255

however, product line wise, the 350 was one of Garmin's higher end units at launch, therefore making the new 755 the replacement in turns of product line placement (higher end/higher price point, etc)

might try it

I sold my 200 for $100 and bought a 255 for $188, costing me only slightly more than the map update.

i might do that. I guess $100 for the nuvi 200 is a reasonable price to sell it at. Now who to sell it to!!! Lol...

Considering that I bought my nuvi 250 at $99 including shipping last month, with full warranty, fresh battery, current maps, and the newer hardware platform (faster processor as used in 255 and multi-via point capability), I'm not sure who you're going to sell a used 200 to for $100, but I think I can safely guess that it will not be a friend. To the electronic bay of thieves, where some smuck will buy anything.

TTS units still show the street names at the top of the screen

Sometime it's nice to know how to spell a particular street name. I guess some of the more costly Nuvi's do both text and voice on where to turn. Don't know.

The TTS models that speak the names still show the text at the top of the screen, too. So you have the best of both worlds. And you need it, because sometimes it mispronounces the street names and you have to look at the screen to see what street it means.
