Last week our company just laid off some workers. It was not a very pleasant scene. Since I work in IS/IT, I had the unenviable task of closing accounts and retrieving computer equipment.
Fortunately, I was not one of them, before layoff we were going to purchase a new HDTV, but reality bite back hard. It did give me pause and take stock of things. This Thanksgiving is going be different. This holiday season, spending time with family and friends will be sweeter than ever.
I found that its the little things in life that make it better. We have decided to forgo the purchase for another time and focus in on what REALLY matters the most in this world. Although, we will not purchase that 60" HDTV, "wah" things that matter in life can not be purchased or bought.
Nice comment SoCal2OH.
I had so many weird life events happen, and have gone from prince to pauper so many times.
It's good to be thankful for what we have at the moment. Material items are nice but family and friends are so much more important.
