The specs on your unit, https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=164&pID=6387 , shows that you can.
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

POIs for SP 2720
I have a 2720 and you can download POIs here.
But first: If you haven't recently - Check out the downloads/updates at garmin.com - look under ON THE ROAD, Discontinued Models. Get the most recent Webupdater, then download the most recent 2720 unit software (ver 7.20 of 1/14/08). Then get the lastest POI loader (ver 2.5.2 of 3/28/02).
Now you're set to load it up with POIs.

I have a 2730, which is highly similar, and you will be able to add a whole lot of them. Hang on to that 2720, although it is not the latest and greatest, it is a very nice GPS.
