Can't use my Garmin while connecting to USB cable

Hello all,

When I'm connecting my Garmin Nuvi 650 to USB cable on my laptop, it always shows charging and I can't seem to use the unit at all. Is this normal?

Yes that is normal

But you can get around it by several ways, before connecting the usb cable hold your finger on the battery icon, when the unit goes into test mode plug the usb cable into the unit, then exit test mode...

Otherwise, what you are seeing is normal.

The unit goes into USB Mass Storage Mode when connected to the computer with the USB cable.
