Possible Causes: You dont have proper permission to create files or folders in your temporary folder. See your system or network administrator.

No Administrator Rights

It sounds like you don't have Administrator rights on the computer. If you go to Control Panel and User Accounts, does it show your account as an Administrator or a standard user?

It has my name

And underneath it says Computer Administrator

Is your C: drive full? POI Loader (and maybe other Garmin apps) create their temporary files/folders under "C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Temp". Try deleting the contents of this directory and/or freeing up additional space on your C: drive and trying again.

Problem

Did you turn your computer off, let it sleep for awhile, then turn it back on. It is amazing how many problems that can solve.

I'll try that...

I'll try that...

Try a batch file

Try this, open notepad and paste this in it: del /s /q "C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Temp\*.*"

Then, save it as a .bat file. Click it when you want to clean the junk from your temp file. Fast, easy and no reboot required.

You need admin rights to do that but...

After you create the notepad and go to save it, instead of saving as a *.txt file, choose All Files and type in cleantemp.bat

That should do it. Or DL it from here: http://members.shaw.ca/cgy_guy/programs/cleantemp.bat
Save it, right click to edit your username instead of mine. Save, click, Voila!

Ignore all of the above...

Sorry, but if you can't get those instructions, don't try this. It was merely an attempt at helping to automate the process of cleaning *.temp files.

My apologies if this confused anyone else as well.

Then do you have any ideas

Then do you have any ideas how I can get my poi loader to work? Anyone?

.

I would hazard a guess and say you're a teen that does not have Admin rights on the computer you're using. That would pretty much cover all the issues you have with your progs, and my .bat file.

But please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...
