Fleet Management Interface Route Issue?

Does anyone have any idea what the "fleet management interface route calculation issue" is?

Nuvi update

Ran the update last night myself.
After the update....the unit froze on me.

Then...powered it down...waited 2 min, turned it back on...powered up and loaded up fine...with no hangs or anything.

Stu.

New Update

Thanks for the heads up.

Just installed mine, turned the GPS on, waited for a a couple of minutes for the update and it is now all set.

760 update

Has anyone have this problem? I updated the American Jack and Jill (TTS)using Webupdater, but if I search for new updates again afterwards, the program still prompts me on the same voice updates. Shouldn't it disappear after it's updated?

...seems like an ongoing problem

I have seen this a few times with my 750's. Disconnecting and reconnecting, and getting a new webinstaller scan seems to clear the problem.
I ignore the voices, as I know they have been updated previously.

No problems with webinstaller on the macintosh though.

I noticed that and updated twice because I thought I hadn't...

The next time I accessed the update page I wasn't given the opportunity for that update again... I think you have to leave the site and then go back...

Something is amiss

I've noticed that as well and every time I check for updates it comes up with the same language packs. And of course it takes for ever to download and install.

A few weeks back I deleted almost all the languages out of there (why have them if you don't understand them) so at least now I can keep track of the updates on the handful that I have left.

BTW, has anyone experimented with the different English TTS voices? It seems that Emily and Karen have a better pronunciation of difficult street names than Jill, but it might be me.

I think each has a slightly different methhod. I dropped Karen- she says
"Cass -E" when I'm on Casey(Kay - C)
One of the American male voices gets it right.

English Voices

We've been using Lee (Australian) and Daniel (British) a lot since they seemed to do better with pronunciation than the American voices. Will have to try Jill again.

However, since none of them are perfect, it works to have Lee because when he does mispronounce a street name, we just blame it on the fact that he's from Australia and that's how they might say it there... smile

We have a Pineloch Blvd near us. It is pronounced "Pine - Lock", but Lee keeps saying "Peen-lock" and breaking up the kids... They want to drive on "Peen-lock" Blvd every day now...

English Voices

Maybe we should start a new thread on which English voice and all the funny things that the TTS comes up with.

One of my favorites is named after my brother and sister-in-law and you should see how Heidi is been pronounced. Cracks up my kids all the time.

Jack

I use American Jack. When I'm routed on Stabler (with a long "a" sound, stay-bler, Jack says it like he's stabbing someone as in stab-ler. It's not a big deal. All of the voices are going to mangle street names now and then. It's pretty amazing how well the voices actually do.
