Map Update/Detail Question

Updated to 2009 on my 660 yesterday, went fine, but I noticed something peculiar.
They accurately updated the progress of the Charlotte Outerbelt, but the newest section (I-485 northwestern section above I-85) requires higher zoom level than the older sections to appear. I noticed the preview on the web site did this also. Detail is set to Most. This doesn't make sense to me. It is all one road, why would the newer section not appear except at higher zoom level?
Explanation anyone?

or programming, probably the latter. Or maybe it's because Mars is in retrograde, in which case you'll have to wait till the 18th...

I have no explanation however I have noticed the same thing as I too live in the Charlotte area. Really wierd, seems to be some glitch with the map. Very odd.
Detail level
Does it still do it if you turn the detail level down?
