Does anyone know if you can make your own routes for this unit? If so,how do I do it? I took a trip recently and the route that was loaded was fine but halfway there it decided to take me another way , several hours out of my way (don't know what was up with that), but I would like to be able to lock in route or tell it how I want to go. Any advice??

there is no routes for the 650 the only way is to set way points.

Hi,.... Nuvi's are not capable of user made routes that I'm aware of. Some other GPS'rs are capable of this though such as the StreetPilots. I found most of the time the Nuvi will get you to where you need to but not always with the best route.

The 700 and 800 series are capables of routing
