c530 Alert Sound...

Hi, On the c530 the only alert sound that comes up is just a beeping sound. I know that the c530 cannot play mp3 files, but is this beep alert sound a wav file? If so can this wav file be overwritten to play another sound or possibily a short sentence in wav. format?

Not that I have heard of,

Not that I have heard of, but then again, I don't know everything. I don't think that there is a certain file that it reads from, rather it is incorporated into the firmware files.

Yeah, we discussed this before and came to the conclusion that it is likely a wav file and likely coded into the firmware, which to my knowledge, hasn't been cracked.

Thanks!

Thanks for your responses. I was figuring that it wasn't possible but it never hurts to ask smile Thanks Again!

There is a method/program that will disassemble/reassemble the voice file.

But the default beep (as far as we know) isn't contained in a voice file. And as far as we know, the wav file is embedded somewhere in the firmware.

Strange combination...

Copies of those tones are contained in the .vpm file. But they must be just copies, because changing them has no effect on the alert sounds that are actually played.

I know - I because I've already tried it on my C510 smile
