Re: have any of you...

Hi Charles,

I agree the bean bag mount is the best and most versatile...and I also have a suction cup mount and a vent mount.

Regards.

Best one

Yes this is by far the best mount..my only beef with it...is that you cannot take it with you while traveling (Via plane)...you could but it's pretty heavy (by design)so I travel with the suction mount and use it in the rental cars..

Excellent Mount

Charles,

This is the best buy on the market for replacing the suction cup mount. I use it all the time and have been very pleased with it.

I bought this mount from Amazon.com because they have one of the better prices for this mount on the web. Garmin will charge you about $40 for same mount.

I use it on my nuvi 680 and it fits perfectly.

Excellent buy.

Mine works great. We travel

Mine works great.

We travel with our 5th wheel and it's easier to hide and set back up when we stop on the road.

Also, California and I think Minnesota do not allow suction mounts on windshields and since we pass through CA it makes this mount more convenient.

Canadian residents can order it here for $39.00 + tax and shipping (Portable Friction Mount Accessory Kit Part # 010-10908-00):

Actually got mine for rental cars

Given the theft rate of GPSr's, I actually got my mount to use on rental cars, so always take it along. It does not seem that heavy! Taking the suction thing off each time one parks seems like a real pain.

I never leave the bean bag

I never leave the bean bag in the car over night and as far as my GPSr, It's always with me, even on my coffee break.

I saw this at BB and it

I saw this at BB and it looked pretty big for a car. I still use the suction cup that came with the gps and it works fine.

I actully

I actually bought this one, i needed the whole mount
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LRMS66

I couldn't get the one that came with the GPS to stick to my dash and here in Calif i can't stick it to the windshield and i don't really want to any way.

Bean Bag -

Yep, I use the bean bag in both cars. I don't leave home, or the car, without it and the GPSr. Works better - my opinion - than any other mount. I read some things about it running around on the dash, but, it's never happened to me. Good choice.

gps mount

garmin mount

I purchased the Car Vent mount from e-bay. $20.00. The one where it works with the standard car charger that comes with your Garmin (350) . It works great. No problems. The suction window one sucks.

I didn't even know there

I didn't even know there were other types of mounts for GPS units. I think I'm going to have to get one of these friction mounts. I've read nothing but good things about them.

Bean Bag Mount

Mine is supposed to come via UPS today - got it from Amazon ($27.99) with free shipping. Must have got the last one because they are now showing 1-2 months for delivery now with the free shipping. Still available from Amazon through other sellers, but with shipping added on.
Anxious to get it and try it out. Never had a problem with the suction mount, but always worried it is going to fall off and get damaged.

I thought it looked big at first when I saw pictures of the mount on the internet but when I received it, it's actually not that big when you see the nuvi attached to it.

Why would I purchase this from a supplier who is obviously ripping Canadians off. $55 for something that Americans can virtually get for free. (read other posts about Amazon) This is typical for internet purchases. Our dollar is above the American greenback and we get hosed on the base price and shipping. Lucky I have relatives living in the US. They can buy it an mail it to me for far less. What a crock.

I agree

I agree, but all the US sites that I looked at would not ship to Canada, and those that did, the shipping was even more. But when you're held hostage what can you do. I needed it so I got it.

Vent Mount

I agree, a vent mount is the best and rivals factory installed. Keep the suction mount for a rental only.

US Hosed too!!!

mrgreen Well I guess I'll take our prices and shipping over the Crap beer we have to drink down here....LOL grin

Maybe we should get together. I ship good Canadian beer, you ship cheap US products. razz

I love it!

Living in Texas, I had some trouble last summer with the suction cup coming off the windshield because of the heat. The dash unit fits perfectly on the left side of my dashboard, and I love it!

Bean bag mount

I love my bean bag mount. The suction mount fell off my window within two days of buying my nuvi so I knew I had no choice but to get a different mount. I was pleasantly surprised how the mount stays put.
