I see there is a hack to allow you to add TTS to the streetpilot 300. I am wondering if it's possible to do this for the Nuvi 200?

I am not to sure, the sales guy at the ol' Radio shack told me i could download an update or driver, but i have not come across one. I'm hoping there is one out there..

That would be sweet, but I don't think the 200 has enough brainpower for that. I just got one for my wife from Cabela's for Christmas for $169, and it has far fewer bells and whistles than my Nuvi 350.
No TTS on 200
The 200 does not have MP3 capability, which is required for TTS. It does have WAV capability, which you can use for POI alerts.
