Nuvi 260W acquring satelite question

My daughter wanted to use her 260W so I took it outside to acquire satellites and I was out there for 15 plus minutes and nothing happened.. I was in an open sky area and everything... Any suggestions?
How long did you wait?
It can take quite some time if you are at a new location or the unit hasn't been on in a while...

I called Garmin
