Nuvi 660 Changing Time Zones

I'm not sure this is a device issue or a setting issue. I take my nuvi when I travel to visit clients. Once I am settled in the rental car, I turn my nuvi on to find that the time hasn't adjusted to the local time. Ideas? Thoughts? Tips?

you have to change it

you have to change it manually (the time zone) and it will then update the time correctly, yeah, I know, it sucks, but that is garmin and life. There are actually quite a few threads on here that go into more details and are interesting to read.

Auto Update

I never really understood why they didn't have it update until I read the very recent post by someone who lived right on the border who would have it jumping back and forth as she drove if it changed itself.

Why cant I tell what

Why cant I tell what timeZone you are in by GPS?

It Can

It can, if the firmware is there to tell it to. Garmin simply doesn't include this feature in its units. I have a Honda with an onboard system, and it changes times zones as soon as I cross them. That option is in the settings for my GPS system. So, Honda includes them (as a setting), while Garmin does not.
