Are c340 POIs visible on map without navigating to them

I just downloaded the Rest Area csv, mp3 and bmp files and installed on my c340. I don't see any POIs on the map unless I navigate to one. I would like to see all the rest areas (within reason) along the highway so I can determine when I want to stop ahead of time. Is this possible.

Thanks
Steve

When you touch screen where

When you touch screen where to then my locations then custom pois touch on rest stops and it will show them and how far away. That way you can just pick one and add as a stop on the c340.You could also set up a alert tone when you get a certain distance to one but will not work unless on the same road most of the time.

Custom .bmp POI Files

On Garmin units you will not see your added poi bmp unless you are zoomed in less than 400 feet. This is not far enough for me on the highway, so I made my restarea file have proximity alerts.

In the poi loader do a manual mode. You will see each csv file come up, and then tell it if it has a prox alert or not. When your rest area file comes up, tell it that you want a distance alert of 6200 feet (a little more than a mile and a fudge factor for any lon / lat errors). Your unit will ding and a red alert display will come across the top of the map. c340's do not play mp3's, so don't worry about loading them as they just take up space.
