I redownloaded the US weigh-station file now it does not show on screen when near scale location. Worked great previously ( yes I did enable show POI) I can do a navigate to. and it will show the locatn onscreen, just not in real time. All other POIs work correctly. Any ideas?

Thanks for all the hard work. I just upgraded my DeLorme Street Atlas to 2010 and was able to import the weigh station file with no trouble. Great information.

On a recent trip from OR to ID, I discovered a missing scale along US730 at the junction of SR37. This is the Cold Springs Port of Entry coming into OR from WA, and is often open. It is a single scale shack accessed from both directions.

Here are the coords:

I have been past this and it is Legitimate.

The weigh station is located 5.5 miles west of I 71 on route 18.

THIS IS AN ACTIVE WEIGH STATION- EXPECT IT TO BE OPEN!

The weigh station is located on the east bound side of route 18. The weigh station entrance is the west entrance. The exit is to the east, so west bound trucks must pass the first weigh station access road and take the next road into the weigh station.

The weigh station on I-10 westbound in Mississippi at the LA line is temporarily closed for overhaul.

I had downloaded the Weigh Station file on 1-13-10 and had found an error. After coming to "Recent posts" led me here again and I have found the corrections have been made. I was looking for the scale at Bland VA. on 3-22-10. Its been corrected.

I hope I can help out sometime. Becase I am a trucker I could make several corrections a day to various poi files. I would like to see a system where paid premium members could have access to all files to make corrections in an approved format.

No need for that, ktm. It's all free and maintained by volunteers.

Are you noticing less manning of permanent weigh stations, fewer hours, as states cope with budget crunches? I'm expecting it. Highway services seem to be getting cut where possible.

Is there a GPX version available? If I am overlooking it, could someone please point it out to me, thanks.

Hi - I just downloaded the new format... I do appreciate the name of the weigh station... and add the word 'scale' to every file as the alert then helps identify the 'scale' vs 'rest area' etc...
I do miss, however, the EB/WB/NB/SB and highway number that was on the old list... as my Garmin 7500 doesn't differentiate between which side of the road I am on.. any way to get this back or do I have to rebuild it on my own? Thanks... ;D

It would be nice to split the 3rd column into a 4th by having City in column 3 and State in column 4. Would think that it might be easier to edit for a specific state if you were able to download and arrange by state.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I would like to join to keep this file updated. I drive truck over 49 states and all of Canada. I don't see NT or AK much though. Right now Canada is slow for me but it will probability pick up in the summer.

Seeing this thread gave me inspiration to start a file of Canadian scales. I currently run through scales in western Canada and have those locations in a GPX file. You're welcome to the file and I will continue to add locations to it.

Obviously you need to use the POI editor and set the proximity to very close, say 200 yards, in order to see which of the above need to be deleted from the database.

When I say it is closed I mean it's officially closed down (not just "not open" at the time). I've carefully submitted the closures and am certain these are all abandoned stations, PERMANENT. I made sure they are just not under construction and will open again.

The file does not show that it has alerts when using poi loader, but it alerts you. I would like to disable it.

A TourGuide file needs a sound file to work properly. If you did not add a sound file I am not sure what you will get. I suspect just a bong.

Rename the file and take out the word TourGuide and then reload if you do not want an alert.

Well, no comments or anything for 8 years. I've made some updates in DeLorme. If anyone is still interested, I can compile a file with my updates, or recompile the whole file with my updates.
