It's the capitalistic way...

Technology marches on but your GPS still works!

Ya but does your 250W work any differently now than it did when you bought it? Sure, new models will always be coming out, and sometimes very soon after you bought one, but whatever you bought will still do what you wanted and decided was good enough at the time, so you should still get lots of good use out of it.

Too large for a pocket?

The only problem with the screens getting larger and larger is that the units get larger and larger. Makes them a bit less portable, especially if you don't like to leave your unit in the car when you park and have to carry it around with you.

At least right now it is Winter, so often I have coat pockets big enough to hold mine, but even my little nuvi 200 seems awfully large if it is the middle of summer and I am getting out of my car wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

It is getting to the point now where us guys are going to have to start carrying a backpack or courier bag every where we go with all the stuff we might have on us these days (cell phones, iPods, digital camera, GPS, etc.).
