MSN Receiver question

Is the coverage area for this receiver based strictly on the reception of the signal, or is it bsaed on available content as well? In other words, while travelling through an area with coverage could I look ahead on my route, in an area without coverage, and still find gas prices (or movie times, or weather)for that area?

The short answer I think is no. I have a Nuvi 750 with the MSN receiver and it does not have the coverage in my area that MSN claims on its website.
