Ad's on my RV 890 ??

After a couple of hours of driving, the RV890 has always displayed a "Need a Break" screen with nearby businesses listed. Selecting one will create a route to it. This is an option though, and it can be disabled in the settings menu.

Yesterday, I was navigating to a friends house using my RV 890 when a screen popped up showing a proposed route to Nelson's Muffler Shop. The shop was on a parallel road, a couple of miles away. I cleared the screen and the GPS went back to navigating the original route.

This is the second time this has happened with pop up routes appearing to nearby businesses. What gives ??? I see no way of disabling this annoying screen. Has anyone else seen this?

Settings

Try going to Settings, Driver Assistance, Break Planning. There are two options - Upcoming Services and Break Reminder. It sounds like the Upcoming Services might be switched on.

I have an RV 890 and the Upcoming Services and Break Reminder are both turned off.

I haven't seen what you are describing, but I have had to correct settings after accepting an update.

Pairing

Not related to your issue, but have you had any issues getting Drive to connect and pair with your 890? Mine only will randomly. When it does, it works great, but at some point it will stop connecting. No resets of phone or GPS will fix it, until one day it will randomly connect again.

Yes

Yes, I have seen this behavior on several occasions. Each time, rebooting my smartphone fixed the issue.

Pairing and Yes

I've had the RV890 since October 2020. It worked fine pairing with Drive until a Drive update in August 2022.

I usually Power Off the GPS. I found two ways that would usually get the GPS to complete pairing with my android phone without having to reboot the phone.

First way is to tap the power key on the GPS putting it in Power Save Mode. Then turn the GPS back on. The GPS and phone should complete pairing.

Second way is to go to Settings>Wireless Settings>Bluetooth. Turn Bluetooth off, wait a couple of seconds, and then turn Bluetooth on. The pairing should complete and you will see the Drive icon turn blue in the upper left corner of the screen.

For me, this problem continued from August 2022 through multiple Drive updates until January 2024. On January 16 I received the firmware update to version 4.50 and the problem was still there. On January 17 I received the RV/Camper Text Language Update. Since then I haven't had the problem.
