IMHO without a backup or Garmin Support you are SOL.

Take it as a lesson to never format anything on the device. If you need to format the SD card remove it and format it then reinstall it.

Personally, if you like the 2595 I’d go on eBay and buy a used unit. One is available, full bundle of accessories, described as excellent condition, with shipping at $49. Even if Garmin could/would help you it would likely cost twice that.

The info can be recovered using a recovery program which will recover most, but not all files but it will have the very first letter missing on all files so you would need to know which letter to re add to that file. It's a long drawn out process and if you cannot do it yourself and have to pay someone to do it. it would be cheaper to buy a new one.

I only know Windows programs and anytime you delete anything it is NOT gone but still resides on the hard drive with the first letter of the file missing. Only when a program overwrites it, is it gone forever.

Ask me how I know? I did it many years ago on an ancient Nuvi 350 and recovered enough for Garmin to recognize it and to re-install any missing files. This was long before I became a member here!
