New computer so had to install a brand new copy.. Version at Garmin.com/express is still some previous copy.. Installed it and when launched.. it informs me "this" version is available and do I want to update..
One would think.. that they would have the latest copy on their website..

This is the first time Garmin Express has told me to install on an SD card or select a region. It is a Garmin 3597, I must be doing something wrong.

I got that, also. The maps are getting larger.

Here's a link showing that GE 7.1 does not recognize several Garmin models and therefore can't perform a map update:

If anyone has used GE7.1 and successfully used it to update a dezl 770, RV 660, Monterra or fleet 670, let us know. Also report if you have a Garmin device that can't be recognized by GE7.1 and therefore unable to perform map or any other updates.

If making a reply, specify if you're using a Windows PC or a Mac in case it turns out to just be a PC issue.

I updated my 660 prior to the GE update

Will go back inside and try the other card ( I cycle between two cards!!)

Not connecting Nuvi to PC... SD Card connected to PC with Garmin directory, Garmin HTML, and existing mapps (renamed with supp) REMOVED FROM GARMIN DIRECTORY...

It SEES 660, It Recognized Map Update is Available, and is downloading.... now... will report back later....

My guess is that a nuvi 660 won't have the problem that the RV 660 has, but let us know whatever you find.

I CAN VERIFY, That a map upgrade on my 660 SD Card (After renaming the 3 files with supp), that a MAP UPGRADE DOES WORK ON GE V7.1.0.0 on a PC W7-64 on SD Card with Garmin Directory and Garmin HTML Serial number...

After renaming files, and placing in 660 the 660 booted up, said it found new maps, Reported 2021.20 was installed, and I went so far as to have it start a route to a neighbor on a nearby mountain, and it worked!!

Updated to 7.1.0, hopefully it solves my issue with older 2595 and windows not recognizing it. Otherwise, I will start a new thread and a new thread and see if anyone else has the issue.

I successfully updated maps on my 2595 two days ago using Express 7.0.2.0

before installing map version 2021.20. No problems with GE update. Yes, had to go into settings and turn off "Keep GE running in background" like we do each upgrade. No big deal just something to remember each time!
