Honda CR-V Navigation

I have a 2018 Honda CR-V Touring which has a Garmin based Navigation. Is it possible to put Red Light Alerts in the system? I have a Nuvi 3790 LMT that I know how to install them. To update the maps in the Honda you plug a USB Flash drive into a USB port in the Honda and then after it does it's magic, you take it out and open Garmin Express on your computer and then plug The Flash drive into a computer USB port and tell Express to transfer data to the Flash drive and when done you take it back to the Honda and upload to the Navigation unit. Again, can you use Poi Loader or something to do this?

POI loader will only create

POI loader will only create a file with a .gpi suffix. I don't think the Honda Garmin will use that format. You will have to look at what is put on the Flash Drive from the Honda and then look at what data was loaded on the Flash Card from GE.

I'm pretty sure there is FAQ on loading to the Honda. You can go to the FAQs and search for Honda.

custom POIs

We are unaware of any way to run red light or speed camera alerts on the 2018 or 2019 Honda nav system.

We are optimistic that custom POIs could be loaded, but it hasn't been done yet. It would probably involve running POI Loader to the USB flash drive. Also, no one has run proximity alerts for custom POIs.

You are a pioneer. Please report back here with the results of your experiments!

The FAQ by mgarledge is for the 2014 Honda which is apparently different from later Hondas:

Still, it will give you an idea of what needs to be done.

Speaking of these garmin

Speaking of these garmin based vehicle gps's, can they import custom gpx route files?

Voice Files ---------- and a

Voice Files ---------- and a few vehicle icons are the only addition attributes I have been able to add to my 2017 Honda Ridgeline Garmin system. If you attempt to add vehicles be sure to backup your orginal Honda vehicles as they will be overwritten by any new Vehicle folder you add to the USB drive.
