having trouble with Drive51 recognizing my waypoint Symbols from Basecamp

Not sure if this is a Basecamp or GPS question!
With my Saved locations on my GPS I sometimes assign a graphic Symbol. I've transferred these Saved locations back and forth to Basecamp trouble free from my prior 2557LM model and the distinct assigned Symbols stay intact.
I now have a Drive51 model which I've used Basecamp to upload my Saved locations to, and its not recognizing the assigned Map Symbols. The GPS only wants to show the default green Heart symbol regardless of which I selected in Basecamp. I can change these symbols in the GPS one by one, and then transfer back to Basecamp (Receive from Device), and basecamp then shows the symbols as all a generic Blue flag for all that were received.
Looking for a solution or work-around if anyone has ideas.
Otherwise I'm really loving the additional features the 51LM offers over the 25X7. Most notably, when I search for a Saved location in a certain category, it has the option to show them in a List (mileage and direction) like the 2557 but also on a map! I love seeing them on a map because I might be looking for one along a particular road for example.

I just tried something else, I just copied my current.gpx from my old GPS onto the Drive 51LM (renamed current2.gpx), and same result - the Drive 51 seemed to scrub all the specific symbols off my Favorites. Its only showing the default green heart for everything. ??? Yet on the 51LM I can go in and edit the symbol, and then it saves that.

I have the 61 and I've been trying my best to figure out what is needed to make the Drive not use the Heart symbol. So far, nothing.

I never get lost, but I do explore new territory every now and then.

Actually I CAN change the icons of Saved Favorites ON the Drive 51LM device under "Edit" and selecting a new Icon. However I see no evidence of it within the Current.GPX file nor in Basecamp when I "Receive from Device".
Even if I could edit a copy of the Current.GPX file to modify icons manually it would be manageable (compared to Editing them one by one on the device).

That's true. But ONLY to the units big green box icons. I have not found a way to use a custom icon even if it's something BaseCamp can see.
