It gets to the step where it is supposed to transfer the new maps and it says there is an error, check to see that the device is plugged in. The device is plugged in and connected. The internal memory and card show up as mounted, and I can access the device through BaseCamp.

Complained about MapInstall back in July of this year when it would not work installing my European maps to a Nuvi 2689 though Garmin Express said that was the way to go.
Saw your title and thought "Wonderful". Then I read the second post.
Drat.
I hope they get it sorted so you can let us know when.
I can't do a full install of CN anymore, or any install of a large number of maps/tiles. I can only install an area about the size of northeast USA, from PA up to Maine. Anything more than that and MapInstaller fails at some point into the process. That is not a large number of maps/tiles either.
The GPSMAP64s has 4 GB built in and I have a 16GB card, so space is not an issue. I reinstalled the GPS system a couple times, no joy.

Download an earlier version of MapInstall from the Perry site

Thanks but the files are marked .exe
Would they work on a Mac? Normally we see stuff like DMG to install.
Cheers
Bob
As you noted .exe are Windows only and .dmg are the OS X versions. The only way I know of to launch .exe files on a Mac is to use Virtual Box or Parallels along with a copy of Windows installed on your Mac to give you a Windows window running within OS X. This is how I run EPE and a couple of other applications I use that were never released for a Mac.

Thought not. My directory of Garmin applications have extensions of .APP
I don't run a Virtual Box or Parallels. Have no reason to get that sophisticated.
Anybody know an archive for Garmin Apps for Mac similar to the Perry archive?
Ooh, ooh, just realized I should look through Time Machine and see if I have the older version and revert back. Problem is that I blew up my old backup HD and had to replace it. I might be SOL.

I checked my Time Machine drive and found MapInstall 4.1.1 in there. I re-installed it.
Of course,on first opening, it offered that there was an update available, but I said NO and then turned check for updates off in the application preferences.
I'll also have to stay away from updating Base Camp which apparently was responsible for pulling the new MapInstall down when Base Camp updated. BC as the culprit was mentioned in another forum by Sussamb.
My Euro 19.2 is now installed on an SD card and working.
In the meantime, we can let Garmin try to suss the problem out.
Hold off
The new Garmin Mapinstall doesn't seem to work.

Update
Called Garmin, they opened a ticket.

Back to the Future
I reverted back to Mapinstall 4.1.1 and as I write this, CN NA NT 2019.3 (full) is being transfered to my GPSMAP 64s.
Garmin is still working on the ticket dealing with MapInstall 4.2.0.
