Yes, read through the earlier posts and you'll see a link to download the file. Remember that this file will only work with the revised 2019.10 City Navigator North America map update.

Thanks very much to you both for posting the large JCV file.

The re-release download (2nd download posted in this thread) worked great with my 2019.11 downloaded map.

But I did have to do a hard reset on my device to get the JCV functioning properly. Be sure to backup your temp.gpx file and note all your settings under tools before trying this. Then after restarting your device edit the copied temp.gpx file making no changes and save it so the date of the file changes. Then copy it back to your device and power on normally. Your favorites will be restored and routes can be re-imported. Then check your settings and manually change where needed.

Power down, reboot?

It's good to hear all worked for you. I wonder, though, if the hard reset was needed. Given that so many devices now enter a sleep mode rather than turning off, did you try a power down and reboot first? It may just have taken a reboot for the device to relocate the jcv file. I don't know what device you have but holding the power off switch until you see a power down warning, then OKing the power down is pretty common for Garmins. I don't know if a power down would be sufficient but I would have tried it before going to a hard reset.

Sleep mode.

CraigW, I am not 100% sure about this, but I think plugging your device into the computer in Mass Storage mode kills the sleep mode and the next boot up will be a full power cycle boot up. I suppose even if that is correct though, it would be possible to install the large JCV file using a SD card reader, so the device could still be in sleep mode.

@CraigW

I did do a soft reset which did not fix my problem.

But I think I know what happened. After installing a new map and large JCV I switch to the new map and run a test Route I keep on my device. It didn't work. What I needed to do was to recalculate the route with the new map. I think that would have fixed the problem.

Doing the hard reset forced me to reinstall my routes which were then recaluated when I imported them.

I need to remember to recalc routes when switching between maps or installing a new map.

Thanks for your comments.

Thanks

for making the large JCV file available for download.
Only works in my ancient 855 and only updated the 2019.11 map file today via the cloning method.
