When is best guess for next map update?

I'm not sure it matter much

I'm not sure it matter much anymore. I see the same errors in every update, ramps that disappeared years ago are still on the most recent update, new roads finished years ago are still missing. Major stores have closed or changed names and the POI information was never updated in the maps. Perhaps we can use Garmin devices as historical mapping tools....

Map Updates

I don't see much with updating a map every time there is one. I have a 660 with only two map updates and haven't got lost yet. We have several new roads and intersection changes and still no problem.

Updates and corrections

It's true that maps don't change that much between updates. However, there was a missing short side road in the neighborhood, so I requested a correction to the mapping service, and now the GPS is showing the road. Also, map updates get the latest POI database.

Is everyone speculating on the date for the release of Map 18.4?

Next map

will most likely be 2019.10. Garmin only releases 3 maps a year now.

I know they update

Last year when we were to turn off I-35W in Wichita , KS to go to a Motel at the I-35W & US 54 exit there was confusion as to where to go due to construction. This year the detour was on my map, and done correctly. Conclusion is that the map makers had done the update. First time I had proof of that.

I must be getting too old to be involved in the guessing when will the next update will happen, last night I updated to 2018.30 I rarely use my Garmin anymore it has bee relegated to backup for my Toyota Entune NAV and my iPhone Google map
