Garmin Vívofit 2

Just purchased the Vívofit 2 as a gift. After downloading the manual all looks pretty straight forward. Want to set it up before giving it to my wife. Anyone have any tips that may not be covered in the manual? I talked to some guys and gals before buying this and they say they really like these fitness activity reporters. Not all of them had the Garmin brand though.Didn't realize how popular these things were until my visit to Best Buy and seeing all the different brands available. Looking around now and starting to notice the all wrist bands people are wearing for their status report. This may result in the wife making me get one.Especially the alert when you are not active for a while.

Best Buy matched the Amazon purchase price.

There must be an innate human characteristic being demonstrated here. After buying a new (to the buyer) brand of car, or starting to walk with a cane, or whatever, etc., we suddenly are aware of how many others are like us in that regard. Hmm, this observation makes me want to try wearing a black pirate eye patch...

Is this observation a known "thing?"

Garmin

Vivosmart HR. The thing with the heart rate monitor on the wrist. Had a Fitbit Charge HR. Was OK, but wanted a larger screen display. Plus one that was a little bit easier to change settings. Garmin Vivosmart did that.

It will work with Windows 7 and up through Garmin Connect. Just like a GPS. Use your normal Garmin account and web browser. I use Firefox.

But, Bluetooth doesn't connect through Windows, though it will connect to an Android tablet. (at least mine won't)

Gave the Fitbit to Peggy and she wears it out.

That was my plan to set it up on the computer to get the charts and goals. May try it also on the Wife's IPAD 2 just to see how it works. Using Bluetooth though would certainly use of the battery a lot faster on the IPAD.
