Forest Service Roads
While on Forest Service roads in Ocala National Forest this week with my Jeep, I saw a Canadian couple driving a class C motorhome. The poor folks were lost, even though they were using a GPS. I directed them back to the paved roads before they could get stuck in the soft sand. Another case of someone blindly following their GPS directions...

Great Idea!
If you ever have to call customer service, here’s a way to lighten the experience, start off on the right foot and have some fun at the same time.
Whenever I call customer service, after they answer the phone and after they identify themselves, here’s where the fun begins.
I reply “Hello, is this a person to whom I am speaking?”
After breaking into a laugh, I tell him I was just joking around and I explain
having done this for nearly 40 years, I will invariably get 1 of these 3 responses:
Response #1
I will get a moment of stunned silence (simply because what they just heard, simply doesn’t register)
Response #2
They will usually reply by saying, “hang on, I’ll see if they’re here” (just to give themselves a little extra time to think of “what to say”)
Response #3 (although this rarely happens)
They just hang up.
Then I thank them for not choosing door #3.
Now we begin our conversation, with a smile on both ends of the telephone line.
I’ve found out, through years of experience, when you begin a conversation with a little humor, it always goes a whole lot better…

bought 200 daffodil bulbs and between today and yesterday, I'm down to about 40 bulbs left to plant of the 200. The retailer specified that the bulbs be planted 6 inches deep with the six inches starting from the top of the bulb. That is a lot of digging and I needed a break.

Been Up To
The Farm in Lenox, Ga (briefly), then to Curtis's in Tifton to buy some sausage, quail and other things.
300 mile or so day jaunt.
Still be aware the police are very active on I-75. At least south of exit 59. Exit 59 a Sheriff's car will sit on the overpass monitoring the northbound traffic.
At Exit 49 the Lenox Police will sit on the edge of the overpass and southbound exit ramp checking south traffic. The Lenox PD seems to have a low tolerance for speed.
There will be other LEO units in various places south of Tifton down to the Fla line. Especially Adel at Exits 39 and 37.
Now - If you don't go over the speed limit (70MPH), you will not be stopped for speeding.

Planting Daffodil bulbs

One year I planted 3,000 various bulbs--got a good closeout deal on them. I used a bulb auger that I attached as a bit in a battery powered drill, it worked great! just have more than one battery charged and ready. You can buy the auger at garden shops they come in 2 different lengths. Get the longer one so you don't have to bend over so much.
