Yes, most assuredly

This was France's 911. Words can't describe it.

All I will say, however, is that I will be praying that this horrific attack steels the resolve of all European countries, and America, in eradicating this terrorist cancer called ISIS.

Short memories

Our politicians cater to the short memories of their constituents. It is going on 15 years since 9/11 and our borders are open and unprotected and we are actively seeking to allow Syrian refugees into this country unvetted just like Europe. It is only a matter of time before this happens here and we will all be wringing our hands about how we didn't see it coming.

Such A Terrible Event...

the randomness and sheer cruelty of it all is mind-blowng.

Prayers to France

I feel very sorry for the people of France.
I am glad they took the offencive and went in and bombed the ones that did it. If more countries went after them, it might make them think twice before doing it again.

Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things!

get em

Good countries should set aside differences and go after ISIS and the other terrorists with full and complete effort, and stop the insane policy of "equal force" responses.
You smash a mosquito, not bite him back.

Amen...

...and our President doesn't have a clue as to what is happening. (As evidenced by his speech yesterday.)

A "JV Team"...

...that is "fully contained" can do much harm indeed. I'm certain we've not seen the last of it. My heart and prayers goe out to all who have suffered.

I heard one of the pests (that blew himself out) had no criminal backgrounds. How are we supposed to screen out those who hate us but undetectable until it's too late? What assurance do we have that someone will never snap one day and turn into a monster?

Think twice, really? Sadly no. I don't see an end to this vicious cycle. We hit them, they'll hit us back... etc. You don't think so? Look at al qaeda... the leader is gone... but is the problem gone? Looks like it's worse today.

bringing thread to a close.

I believe the OP started the thread as a way for our community to express empathy for those who have suffered due to the recent tragedy in France.

Since the discussion has started to veer in a different direction and given that POI factory is not a forum for politically charged debate, I've decided to bring this thread to a close.
