EcoRoute distance traveled accuracy. Garmin Nuvi 2595

I've had my 2595 and EcoRoute for quite a number of years now and keep it up to date. Never had any real problems with it and it has been thru every state in the lower 48 and 10k kilometers in Europe. Bar the occasional memory full, can not calculate route, or routing errors, and a battery change, it's worked great.

Fast forward to a month or so ago and I started noticing my At The Pump distance traveled is way off. At first I just thought I forgot to reset at fill up, etc. Today I get gas and my scan gauge says I traveled 271 miles, and EcoRoute says I traveled 386 miles. I reset my trip on the truck when I reset and filled up at a gas station close to my house. When I got home my truck and scan gauge said 1.7 miles, and Nuvi said 8.3 miles!

I have checked the basics, units in miles not kilos, etc. but couldn't find a problem. I searched the forums to no avail. Anyone else heard of or experienced this problem?

Greg

Have you tried a reset?

If all else fails you might want to give this a try. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPGtTyOt-Hw

hmmmmm

The 3597 requires that you have the $100 Garmin Mechanic with ecoRoute™ HD Part Number: 010-11380-10 that plugs into the vehicles OBD-II socket.

Once the Garmin Mechanic with ecoRoute™ HD is plugged in and the 3597 pairs to it, then the at the pump and other functions become available.

I was just perusing the Garmin site here

And now it looks like they might have moved the at the pump function into a smartphone app. Search Google play for Garmin Mechanic

Do you have theGarmin Mechanic with ecoRoute™ hardware?

EcoRoute HD

I have EcoRoute HD with the OBDII cable installed and everything has been working fine for a few years now, unless the hardware is failing, but everything else is working fine with EcoRoute; speed, fuel consumption, etc.

I might try the reset as dannyt suggested.

well

If you get a lotta nuttun' after the reset you might try the Garmin mechanic app for a smart phone.. Seems to be free.
