Anyone know where this RLC map comes from?

I just happened to Google "Tampa Red Light Cameras" today and this clever little map showed up first in the search results.

https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zpuYLuimtA4o.kSft_D...

Does anyone know who is maintaining the map (it would appear to be via My Maps as indicated in the legend) and/or where the RLC POI data comes from?

Interesting Find

That's an interesting find. Not sure who created it, and I'm not sure if it's all up to date as it's missing the newer cameras in Lakeland.

Nice - thanks for sharing.

hmmmm makes me wonder..

If someone could take the poi data and feed it into the Google maps and generate a Google map for the entire country with all the cams..

Then if those maps could be used with Google maps on our cell for navigation purposes

What I did was sort and pick only the California red light locations to try. I then used the KMLCSV Converter, http://choonchernlim.com/kmlcsv/, to create a KML file from the CSV file then open up Google My Maps to save it. I can now see them on Google Maps on my Note 4 under My places. Routing is now possible. Now what?

@LeapFroggie

It's quite possible it came from the link listed below since they state their information comes from "Google NAVTEQ map api which used in Google Maps."
I came across this site by using the same search words you used in Google, "Tampa Red Light Cameras".

This is a paid service for 14.99 and they claim to send you updates via email. I'm wondering where they get their information from, hopefully not from POI Factory. I wouldn't trust these unknown companies paid services, here today and gone tomorrow.

Almost Every map has a fictitious street on it so they can claim uniqueness... Maybe POI factory needs to put fictitious can locations at places they couldnt ever exist... On the peaks of mountains, in the middle of a shopping lane, on an airport runway....

I doubt POI factory is their source

I just looked at the site for the two cameras near my house and they are missing one. POI Factory has it, though.

Nice Work

Good to know that site is not pirating information from our site since our members put a lot of time and effort in to get the locations.

The map is pretty out of date, at least in Tampa Bay

The map shows RLC's in St. Petersburg, but they were removed in September or October of last year.

If only....

If there were a quick and easy way to turn the files from this site into maps, it would make trip planning alot easier for those of us who just want to avoid the cameras altogether.

I Already Did That

If you read my previous post, I already made a Google map of the red light camera locations. I could also upload the kml to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map_input?form=google to create the map. I now have all the red light locations on my Android Note 4 using Google Maps under My Places.

Here it is using gpsvisualizer: http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/display/20150731230459-79066-ma...

Or using Google Maps:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?hl=en&authuser=0&mid=zhDO...

One small problem is Google Map's "My Maps" can or will only import the first 2000 rows, or the first 10 layers and 2,000 features from the kml file. In other words, in the case of our latest red light camera's csv file, a maximum of 2000 locations only. That's why at first I only created the California locations for my phone and purpose to test.
