Arranging Sub-folders

How do you change the arrangement of sub-folders in the Custom POIs folder so they are organized in a logical order?

Also can you turn ON/OFF individual Alerts or are you only able to turn them ALL ON or ALL OFF? My NUVI 52 seams to only have the ability to turn them ALL ON or ALL OFF by applying or removing a check mark for CUSTOMS POIs in Proximity Points. I believe this only disables sound. Can you disable icons?

I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

FAQ

A lot of this is covered in the FAQs but you organize the folders by ordering them in them in the folder you load your custom poi from.

Icons for custom POI are turned off by not having a BMP file matching the POI name. Alerts for custom POI are disabled by not setting a proximity or speed alert for the individual file.

As to the factory POI, you cannot disable those icons as they are built into the map data.

You must have at least 2 sub-folders within the main folder containing your POIs (say, MyPOIs). The sub-folders will be arranged in "Garmin" alphanumeric order (which is not the same as Microsoft alphanumeric order). There is a limit of 32 sub-folders under the main folder (more and POI Loader will give an error)

My testing indicates that the Garmin order is as follows
"!", "#", "$", "%", "&", "-", "@", "a", "A", ... "z", "Z"< "[", "]", "^", "_", "`", "{", "}","~"

So, personally, I have the following sub-folders
"#food_lodging"
"%Stores"
"-Auto Stuff"
"@Other"

in my "MyPOIExpress" main POI folder.

BUT, if you load another "folder" into your unit after loading a previous "folder", then the "previous folder" will be in Garmin order followed by the "another folder" in Garmin order - and so on.

All this makes my head hurt.
