Inputting poi into lagacy nav unit

Sure would like to upload POI,s into the nav. System of our Subaru . Things like REST STOPS , etc. have very little knowledge of just how to go about doing it. So please keep it simple. I did contact Subaru for help but they stated it could not be done. Tnx mike wd6edt

Most likely Subaru has a proprietary NAV system that does not allow 3rd party data to be imported.
Did you google to see if other Subaru owners have done this already?
P.S. in Subaru XV Crosstrek Forum, they have a 2012 post with somewhat detailed instructions on importing POI and red light data. CAVEAT: this could brick your NAV!

On Google it points to a Kenwood Nav system on Subaru's. If that is what you have look at this post http://www.poi-factory.com/node/44199 .Also do a search for Kenwood on POI Factory site. Don't have a Kenwood but do recall lots of discussions by members trying to do custom poi install and they had success.
