Battery Replacement

My Nuvi 2595LMT is among those that this works for. Two people said they got the battery replacement kit installed, and it works fine, and one said it didn't work for them--of course he may have had other issues with his GPS--he didn't say. Nice to know it's available if, make it when, needed, because in my experience these batteries go downhill in years two and three and become useless about then even if the GPS is usually on a charger.

I've replace the battery on the Garmin 1490 with no issues, and a degree of difficulty of 2 on a scale of 5. Sometimes it is tricky to find the correct battery, and if you get the kit with the required tools (small screwdriver and plastic bezel remover) it is quite simple and quick.

I've got to try to replace the battery on my 3490.

I'll try a google search to see if I can locate the correct replacement battery.

This may be helpful as to what to watch out for when removing the old battery so you do not damage the mic connector during the battery switch.

The replacement on the 1490 was easy as was replacing the battery on the 780 (twice on the first 780 and once on the second). CP is correct, get the tools along with the battery...makes it all simple to do.

Got replacement battery from eBay for $7; easy to do with my 755T.

I second KeenanMD's comment regarding the ease of replacing a 755 battery. Very easy.

that battery replacements are available, not sure I would have thought of that. Googltr search showed a number of sources for 2460 batteries ranging from about $10 to $25.

My battery is not holding a charge and needs to be plugged in all the time. I suspect it is only a matter of time before I need to replace. Good to know it isn't too difficult.

I wonder if there are any businesses that will do the battery replacement for you. (at a cost of course) Probably cheaper to send to Garmin but it takes so long to get your gps back.

Many Batteries Plus store offer battery replacement services for tablets and such. They may be willing to tackle a Nuvi.

If they will tackle an iPad battery replacement (don't know if they do or not), the nuvi would be piece of (sponge) cake.

I guess it depends on the model and whether it's plug and play or solder and play but cost difference is substantial for DIY.
