What amazes me is we live in 2014, yet the law lags so far behind, that it only takes an iq of perhaps 90 or 100 to beat outdated laws.

On my car forum, some people openly state they have driven years on expired paper temp tags, i.e. the car is legally registered, but the physical permanent plate was never mounted. And they have beaten automated enforcement all this time.

If you have an A-1, you can even escape criminal prosecution. Both NYPD and the Metropolitan PD are very familiar with how to handle (basically ignore) crimes when committed by someone possessing an A-1. The only agency who can do anything (and they would not) is DOS in those cases.

Yes. If you are a diplomat, work for an embassy, work for the city (district), are friends with anyone who works for the city, or make the appropriate payment to someone who works for the city, you have an easy way to get out of a camera ticket. Anyone else? Pay up, then pay up again. Innocence is no excuse for not paying.
