Ummm, any bets on whether Garmin Express will work without any hitches in its giddy-up with 2015.20? All the bookies have the odds currently at 750:1 against GE based on past performance.
Past performance is no guarantee against future returns!
I wonder if they will change the routing algorithms AGAIN. Which is usually not an improvement.
They will doubtless change routing algorithms on various models at various times, but the place they do that is in firmware (Garmin calls them software) updates, not in the map data.
If the update method you use checks whether your unit has up-to-date firmware, finds it not, and updates it, then you could get an algorithm update, not not from the maps themselves.

This thread is old but I think it is an interesting discussion about the correlation of routing algorithms of devices and software.
Updating maps is definitely not one my favorite things to do. There's always some risk involved, especially with using Garmin Express (although it -is- improving). Having new maps is great but is sometimes not worth potential issues involved.

Are there any major changes for the new map City Navigation North American NT 2015.20 ? or just a minor update ?
There are some existing business addresses that have been around for over 10 years but the existing map does not recognize it....I hope the new map is better
Just to give an idea on how long it takes for map updates (corrections) to happen, I have submitted corrections for three different errors in my specific home town. IMO, I'd call them "major" errors. One was for a POI: The Police Station for my town was missing in the POI list. It took three map updates to correct. Not too bad, but I was surprised it took this long since it was probably the easiest to confirm and kind of a critical error when you think about it. The second was a one way street not showing as such. This took five map updates. The last was a live/active rail-road crossing not shown on one of the main roads in town. The tracks were shown as ending about 1/4 mile before the street. The tracks do end a little way after the crossing, but it's a freight yard with a siding used for turnaround and it's fairly busy. This took the longest to get corrected: six map updates.

When corrections take that long to be made, I always wonder if its our reports that ultimately made the difference or did the NAVTEQ-mobile drive by and report the error and that generated the correction.
