for my 765t. Not sure if its a false alarm, so everyone check their Garmin Express software.

City Navigator 2014.30 is now available for download. I could not use GarminMapUpdater, it forced me to use Garmin Express.

My 765 is updating now. It would not let me update my 2300. MapUpdater said since I did not havb the last update loaded it would not load this one. I have the latest loaded. Will try on a diff computer later.

Thanks for the heads up. I hope it lets me use the MapUpdater.

That afternoon is finally here.. just 4 weeks delay..

My results are the same as jjen's: GarminMapUpdater version 3.2.2 works fine.

Done using Map Updater 3.2.2 with Windows 8.1

Downloading time: 24 minutes

Installing on both unit 3790 and computer: 44 minutes

Wow, different experience today, updated both 2460's in less than three hours, normally takes all night.

All seems well.

Got the map update but could only do it with Garmin Express. Took 1hr 30min.

Before I update, I just wanted to know if anyone had any issues after updating, locked mapped or anything?

Updater worked fine here as well.

Completed the install yesterday on my 2455 LMT, but had to use a microSD card because the internal memory did not have enough space.

I have noticed in the last two updates that the spelling of certain roads has been changed. A notable problem had been the "Cross County Parkway" in Westchester County, NY. It used to be listed in the map as "Cross Co Pkwy". When the directions were spoken, it would come out as "Cross Company Parkway". Now it is spelled "Cross County Pkwy" and is pronounced correctly.

Overall, I am amazed at how big the gmapprom.img file is. 2.1GB now and requires a minimum 4GB SD card. My 765T has been installing to an SD for a year now. I still remember back in 2008/2009 when it was under 1GB in size.

I successfully D/L the new map update and I did it using MapUpdater.

I did note that a map error involving a missing live/active rail road crossing in my town was corrected in this version of the map. I reported the error to Garmin and Navteq about 18 months ago.

Used Garmin map updater and all went OK but slow install.

can anyone help i DL Garmin Express, started the process it got all the way to 99% less then a minute remaining to DL then it just stopped its just sitting there doing nothing??

This 2014.30 map is an interesting update. Many folks are reporting problems with Garmin Express or GarminMapUpdater, but a switch to the program not used at first seems to work.

so now what cancel this DL and start over?? will it mess my Garmin up??

Yes, start over. That's why I thought you'd hate to hear the news, especially if your broadband connection isn't the fastest or if you're limited to xx GB/month.

If GarminMapUpdater does work for you, my suggestion is to uninstall Garmin Express from your computer. It doesn't have to be kept or deleted--it's your choice.

Using GE I had 1 of my 765Ts say updates complete only to find the next morning on the road that only the 3D file was downloaded. The regular North America map was no where to be found when looking under "Map Info". No addresses, speed limits, etc. The file appeared to be on the SD card, it just didn't register for some reason. I downloaded again using MapUpdater and all is fine now.

The other 765T, 1450 and zumo 665 all downloaded fine using GE. I think all my units are using SD card for the maps now except the zumo. I just move the JCV file to the SD card for extra room on the unit memory.

Guess I better check mine ... I updated two 2460LMT units, haven't need to use either one since I updated, better check them out before I need them.

Everything went smooth with GMU, i deleted GE off my puter.

Finally remembered to update the maps on both of my old 760 units. I'm hoping to find that the long stretch of realigned highway I sometimes travel for work has been corrected. As usual, I used the Garmin map updater. I refuse to have that lifetime updater installed on my computer.

Every update I just know how much fun I'm going to have. GE will always tell me I don't have enough room. Every time it ends up that I did have room, without deleting any files. It seems that GE just looks at the free space and doesn't know that the existing image file will be deleted.

This time Garmin Updater quit within a couple of minutes of completion. Three hours wasted. btw why are all revisions of updater given the same number? Or is it just me?
