RVND 7720

Looking at RVND 7720 vs Garmin RV760LMT. both look good but a comment on another forum "Originally Posted by Luckiest Dre View Post

I want to be able to map my own routes and download them to the GPS. I know the Garmin will do this as I do it all the time. I don't let the GPS route me, I route the GPS. rolleyes

For me being able to download from my computer to the gps is not nearly as important as the gps(s) software capabilities and how well it's geared toward driving an RV. I own the RVND 7710 which works great and looked briefly at the info on the Garmin which also looks like it might work well too. I suggest you spend some time playing with these possibly at Camping World or some other location first before buying. With greater options comes more complexity and before you lay down your cold hard cash I'd be sure you are going to be happy with it.

Garmin may have better actual GPS software....

I already have both a Garmin 765T and a RVND 7720, so I cannot compare to the RV760LMT, but I like both units for what each does best. I can say that the Garmin is more likely to provide accurate and logical routes in tough situations.

If the Garmin software is the same for all Garmin units, with the exception of RV specific features, I would be tempted to go with the Garmin RV unit. At least, I would study it, read reviews, possibly on amazon.com, and not get in a hurry. Once you make a mistake, it is really hard to considering dumping your investment and changing units.

Good Luck, and I hope you will post your experience after you have had time to evaluate the one you select to buy.

I'll lay odds the RV model is based on the DEZL because of the similar restrictions and requirements.
