I recently purchased a 2014 Honda Odyssey with built-in navigation. Reading the manual, it indicated that I could upload POI files (CSV or K??). I downloaded a couple POI files from PO factory and tried, but the nav system told me the format was wrong.
Anybody have any idea what the format should be?
thanks ... new, very new at this ... CincyRock
a couple of things
The format of a CSV or Comma Separated Value (Variable) file isn't fixed other than to say each element is separated from the next by a comma. The Garmin POI files here are 4 elements in this order: Longitude, Latitude, POI Name, and description. Honda may require their data in a different order and may have limits on the length of each field that could be shorter than the limits Garmin allows. The best help here would be either Honda support or a Honda user group.
From your message, the other format Honda will read is a KML file which is from Google Earth. You would need to load Google Earth with the locations and then export them as a KML file.

Somewhat Off Topic
Have an older Odyssey that does not have the ability to add POI to the OEM nav system. However, I could spring for approx. $200 that Honda tries to get for the annual update DVD. I think not! I just use my trusty Garmin with POI-Factory poi's.
