Can't load Poi's

I just received yesterday the Garmin Nuvi 3590LMT. Tried it today and LOVE it. Much improvement over my Nuvi 720. I can't get my favorite poi's from this site to load. I tried using to program "POI Loader" but it can't find my unit when doing a device search. Any ideas?

Does your computer see your Garmin when attached to the usb cable? Message came up saying "found new hardware"

Is it in Mass Storage mode?

For tips on how to change from MTP to MS, see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/34909

or try this
1. To make all of Nuvi files visible, you must unhide protected files via Folder Options.

2. Start NUVI by itself and go to Volume Screen.
3. Press the upper right hand corner of screen for 10 seconds.
4. The Developers Screen will pop up
5. Scroll down to MTP SETTINGS
6. Change from AUTO DETECT to MASS STORAGE
7. Shut down NUVI and hookup to Computer USB cable
8. The computer should recognize it is hooked up to the computer.
9. Explorer will now see all files in ROOT directory and the .System directories.

or perhaps
In the map, touch the speed to get to the dashboard screen.
Touch the speedometer for a few seconds (about 5).
Scroll down to the MTP setting and select Mass Storage.

Now, why would one need to change the MTP settings for poi loader to be used?

He has an outdated POI Loader.

That did it!

That did the trick, Jgermann. I have the latest poiloader BUT when I changed my Nuvi from "auto Detect" to "Mass Storage" it assigned my Nuvi a drive letter AND it also recognized the micro SD card (both of which were already visible and accessible in Windows Explorer). I retried the POI Loader and it installed them with no problems. Thanks! Is there a way I can make my "custom POI's" a shortcut?

That's just too weird. I reset mine too Auto Detect just to make sure, and poi loader saw it just fine. I remember when i first got it and i was able to use poi loader right away, but couldn't see any files until i changed the mtp settings
