2497 Cannot delete POI

Run poiloader again but this time select remove all pois first.

If I remember correctly after you delete pois using poiloader empty your trash can before re-connecting your GPS to computer or do it while the GPS is still connected after the poiloader delete.

That was It!!! thanks, perhaps you can enlighten me about loading the Poi's. the reason I was deleting all, is because I was going to start over, thinking I had surpassed the limit of memory in the GPS or the 8GB micro card. I could only load about 4 categories, and then no more. Is there a trick to loading using a Mac?

Not a Mac user but don't recall any problems on categories limit to 4. You are using this process http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 correct?

Thanks, will read the items you sent me, and try using that loader instead of the one I have. I downloaded it from the factory site which said for Macs. will let you know after I try some more. P.

If you do the part for voice alerts. According to other Mac users sox.exe not required.

Just checking--you are trying wav audio files and not mp3, right?

When I click on the Garmin icon, then poi, I see all the individual files but for some reason they don't make it to the gps unit.

Once you re-boot the gps touch where to then custom pois all the categories should show there.Touching one of the files will show the closest 50 to you.

When you use poiloader to load to gps.In the poi folder you should see a gpi file.Poiloader converts all the files to one gpi extension file.

Thanks for your patience! I was expecting a Custom POI icon on the GPS, but I first have to do Where To, then Categories, then scroll down to custom poi's. Perhaps a different name will put an icon on the Where To page without the scroll down?
It does look like I was putting the POI's onto the GPS unit, I just couldn't find them looking for the icon only. P.

Will my automotive device display POI icons on the map?

Most automotive devices will only display icons on the map for your saved Favorites or custom Points of Interest (POI) files that you may have installed. To view the custom POI icons, you will need to zoom in the map to 200 feet or closer. The preloaded points of interest (restaurants, hotels, attractions, etc.) will not display icons on the map if they are not also saved favorites.

The device will show the POI icons on the map when it has started moving or is in an active route.

POI icons will NOT display on the map if your map view is set to either North Up or Track Up.

The zumo 350, dezl 760, RV 760, and nuvi 2405, 2407, 2408, 2505, 2507, 2508, 2707, 2708, 3400, 3500, 3507, and 3508 series devices will only display POI icons when you have that map layer selected. You can also try this for one of the custom pois you have icon for.Touch where to,custom pois,select one of the individual pois you have icon or bmp for and touch it.Don't touch GO.Touch the i in the circle.You should see icon on map on right of gps screen
